    American Language and Multicultural Diversity

Armenia, Bangladesh, Curacao, Egypt, Hungary, Kuwait, Nepal, Republic of Türkiye, Slovakia, and Sri Lanka

Global Ties Detroit will be hosting ten (10) English-speaking educators participating in the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) American Councils for International Education program American Language and Multicultural Diversity. These nine (9) educators are visiting from Armenia, Bangladesh, Curacao, Egypt, Hungary, Kuwait, Nepal, Republic of Türkiye, and Sri Lanka to enhance their understanding of American culture and history as context for English-language education. During their stay this delegation will be observing U.S. classrooms, from kindergarten to 12th grade and discuss on how technology is being used to further reading and language learning. They also will be interacting with teachers and students in primary and secondary schools, including English as a Second Language (ESL) and other foreign-language classrooms to see how new immigrants and Americans learn other languages.
