Exploring the History, Design and Experience of World’s Fairs: EXPO

    December 3, 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM EST

Join us for an exciting lecture and information session featuring the history of World Expos, highlights of past events, and details of past US Pavilions and the role of Youth Ambassadors.
Mega events scholar Mark Wilson, professor of Urban Planning at Michigan State University, will explore the prestige and glamour of these mega events, their transformative impact on the host city, as well as the platform they represent for promoting national identity and showcasing new technology. Prof. Wilson has decades of experience with mega events, has attended almost every Expo since 1982, and was involved in planning and organizing processes for many of these!
This lecture is followed by a presentation and Q&A session about opportunities to get involved with Expo 2020 Dubai, featuring the U.S. Department of State Expo Unit, and Global Ties U.S. Don't miss it and register!
