Community Strategies to Counter Terrorism
Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, and Somalia
Global Ties Detroit will be welcoming nine (9) delegates from Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, the Palestinian Territories, and Somalia participating in the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) CRDF Global program Community Strategies to Counter Terrorism. This delegation will be exploring the underlying conditions that fuel extremism such as political grievances, communal conflicts, social structures, and economic disparity. They also will be examining outreach efforts used in the U.S. designed to build strong community resistance to violent extremism and to promote tolerance.
