Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI)

Angola, Botswana, Cameroon, Republic of the Congo, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Ghana, The Gambia, Guinea, Kenya, Lesotho, Mauritius, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe

The Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders is a program of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI). The Fellows, between the ages of 25 and 35, have established records of promoting innovation and positive impact in their communities and countries. Since its establishment in 2014, the YALI Fellowship has brought over 7,000 young leaders from every country in Sub-Saharan Africa to the United States for academic and leadership training.  The Mandela Washington Fellowship will help strengthen connections between the United States and Africa. In turn, this will establish long term relationships between Fellows, those who house them, local communities, and private businesses. We look forward to having more involvement and fellowship in our communities.
