This September six (6) delegates from Kosovo will be visiting Detroit in the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) Strategic Communications for Law Enforcement. The objective of this program is for participants to learn the effects of fostering positive interactions and relationships between police, civil society, and the community, to help build trust and confidence in public institutions. During their stay these professionals will be visiting selected police departments, civil society organizations, educational institutions, and community groups. During these visits they will be examining U.S. best practices in enhancing accountability and transparency within law enforcement agencies and government institutions. They also willbe exploring the city of Detroit through cultural tours and home hospitality dinners.
