For more than a decade, the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program has helped entrepreneurs further their business endeavors by providing those with the resources they need to prosper and succeed. Through their three pillars of education, capital, and support, Goldman Sachs gives entrepreneurs the opportunity to expand their businesses and learn more about the industry they are a part of, providing jobs and immense opportunities for those in their respective communities. This program does not only benefit individual businesses or entrepreneurs, it serves a greater impact on various parts of the nation. By fostering collaboration between business owners after the program, helping raise business revenues, and providing resources to capital that may have not been attainable prior, the 10,000 Small Businesses Program affects the well-being and livelihood of several communities, furthering economic growth and prosperity for the entire nation.
Global Ties Detroit President Marian Reich has been accepted into the 10,000 Small Business Program, and spoke about the program thus far and how the opportunity will impact Global Ties Detroit and the Detroit community:
“As an entrepreneurial non-profit, Global Ties Detroit is a great fit for the program. The sheer diversity of business leaders and entrepreneurs I have gotten to meet and learn about is one of the most rewarding aspects of the program.”
Through Paired-Partnership activities within the training, Marian has spoken to leaders across the state, engaging in discussions and building lasting connections. Additionally, learning how to effectively pitch to business professionals and potential resources is another important skill she is working to strengthen. Further, Marian reflects on how this opportunity can help Global Ties Detroit expand its programming and events, advancing the organization’s reach and impact in metro Detroit and abroad:
“I hope to take the knowledge and skills learned through my GS10KSB experience to further Global Ties Detroit’s mission, foster more connections and partnerships with businesses here in SE Michigan and beyond, and develop our organization as a hub for cross-cultural competencies and collaborations. I am grateful for this wonderful opportunity, and appreciate all of the time and expertise that the trainers, advisors, and fellow scholars share through the program.
The Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program concludes on December 15, 2021 and culminates with a comprehensive growth opportunity plan of action. Upon completing the program, Marian and Global Ties Detroit will be a part of a prestigious network of over 10,000 program graduates, representing 200,000 total employees and $14 billion in total revenue
