Global Ties Detroit President Marian Reich Recognized by Crain's Detroit Business as 2022 Notable Women in Nonprofits
    December 05, 2022

Global Ties Detroit (GTD) President Marian Reich has been recognized by Crain’s Detroit Business as a 2022 Notable Woman in Nonprofits. Marian was recognized because of her leadership to further Global Ties Detroit's mission, promoting a more peaceful and prosperous world and making a positive impact in Detroit. As this is Global Ties Detroit's 50th Anniversary and Marian's 10th year with Global Ties Detroit, this recognition is especially meaningful to our organization.

This article highlights the growth of the organization under Marian's tenure.

"Under her direction, the organization rebranded, renaming the nonprofit Global Ties, stepped up fundraising, and added revenue-generating programs, including professional fellowships for entrepreneurs to work in Detroit and reverse exchanges for Detroit professionals to work overseas. Moreover, she grew the budget by almost 700 percent and increased the number of international visitors hosted annually from 150 to more than 500."

Together with the board's support Marian has been able to attract corporate engagement.

“Marian’s work has increased Global Ties’ impact in Detroit, which has been recognized particularly in the business community. This has helped us transform the board of directors and attract diverse leaders from a wide range of organizations, including GM, DTE, the University Research Corridor, MEDC, Visit Detroit and more,” said Steven Rybicki, senior vice president of the events group at Continental.
